Entering a Modern Eden: The Ultimate Elevation of the Soul
Pioneering a New Era Under the Legacy of Aman

Since its establishment in 1988, the Aman Group has become renowned for its luxurious hotels and philosophy of tranquility. Today, Aman is expanding its presence in the hospitality industry by launching its sister brand, Janu, which serves as a driving force for Aman Group's progress. Named after the Sanskrit word for "soul," Janu strives to facilitate genuine connections - whether they are physical, mental, spiritual, or social and communal. Janu aims to redefine contemporary life, which heavily relies on digital devices, by advocating for enriching face-to-face experiences and human interaction. To achieve this goal, Janu Tokyo has developed the most extensive wellness center in Tokyo's hotel industry, equipped with top-tier amenities such as a spa, hot springs, sauna, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. The center also offers various areas for group fitness classes, presenting an oasis-like sanctuary. Janu is embarking on a new era, positioning itself as an innovative leader in the hotel industry, powered by the Aman brand's legendary influence. We are committed to providing more lively and convivial experiences.

JANU Tokyo

Tokyo  •  Japan
Janu Tokyo opened in March 2024 as the inaugural flagship of Janu, the more social, movement-driven sister brand born from the Aman cosmos. The name means soul in Sanskrit, and the hotel occupies the upper floors of Azabudai Hills, Tokyo's newest creative district, a 2023 mega-development in Minato, with Tokyo Tower framed directly through floor-to-ceiling windows. Architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston designed all 122 rooms and suites, scaling from light-filled 55-square-metre Deluxe Rooms to the 284-square-metre Janu Suite with two private balconies. Every room has its own balcony. Interiors lean on warm timber, washi-textured walls, and low-saturation stone, stripped of ornament and generously empty. In the 105-square-metre Tower View Suite, living room, bedroom and bathroom occupy separate volumes, and the tower glows orange across the dressing-room mirror at dusk.

Eight dining and drinking destinations give the hotel its rhythm. Sumi turns charcoal grilling into a sumibiyaki omakase served across a single counter; the fourth-floor Janu Grill handles breakfast and flows into afternoon tea at Janu Lounge & Garden Terrace; Janu Mercato runs Italian dining from breakfast through late night; Hu Jing reimagines contemporary Chinese cooking; Iigura serves edomae sushi; and Janu Bar stretches the evening. The 4,000-square-metre wellness centre is one of Tokyo's largest hotel fitness spaces, with a 25-metre indoor lap pool, seven treatment rooms, two Spa Houses pairing Russian banya with Turkish hammam, aerial yoga, a golf simulator, and boxing masterclasses led by Japanese kickboxing world champion Rui Ebata. Thirty minutes from Haneda and fifteen from Tokyo Station, Janu chooses connection over retreat. It's for the traveller who treats a city stay as a recharge ritual.
