Excelsior Hotel Ernst

Family owned since 1863, the Excelsior Hotel Ernst looks back on a long history as Cologne’s most luxurious hotel. The central location, in the heart of the city opposite Cologne Cathedral, a World Heritage landmark, is appreciated by business and leisure travelers alike. All the important attractions, such as the Philharmonic Hall and the many famous museums and theaters, are located within walking distance, as are the best shopping areas. Even the fairgrounds are just across the Rhine River. Luxurious materials and valuable furniture give each of the rooms and suites its own character and individual charm.

Restaurant Taku, awarded with one Michelin star, welcomes you with a masterpiece East Asian inspired compositions while the restaurant Hanse Stube offers innovative French cuisine combined with local influences. The stylish design of the Lobby Lounge accompanies the traditional Excelsior Hotel Ernst afternoon tea, perfected by executive pastry chef Fabian Scheithe.

Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg

Driving up to the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg conjures visions of an old world arrival, thanks to a dramatic courtyard allée that leads to the dashing Baroque castle. Built some 300 years ago, the Schloss occupies an enviable hillside location with views of the Cologne skyline. Grandeur continues in the guest rooms, with high ceilings and elegant furnishings; special touches include an in room Jacuzzi in one suite and exposed wood beam ceilings in some top floor accommodations. Romantic and serene, Bensberg has a loyal culinary following, thanks to restaurant Vendôme, headed by award winning chef Joachim Wissler. The more casual Jan Wellem, named for the castle's first owner, draws a chic crowd on Sundays for its Champagne brunch.
