The Manor House

The Manor House, Fancourt’s original homestead, is a national monument built in 1859 and owned by Henry Fancourt White, the engineer who supervised the construction of the Montagu Pass, which goes from the city of George over the Outeniqua mountain range to the town of Oudtshoorn. The Manor House has been rejuvenated as a luxury hotel and is on the extensive Fancourt resort, which is set among 1,500 acres of lush countryside on the famous Garden Route in South Africa.

The Manor House offers a unique combination of classic opulence and the indulgent sophistication of a 21st century boutique hotel with extraordinary suites, including the Master Bedroom suites, all offering personalized, butler style service. Guests have exclusive use of the outdoor pool and can enjoy breakfast in any location within the Manor House. Each stay includes daily afternoon tea, evening canapés, sparkling wine, and a fully stocked complimentary minibar as well as luxury bath products.
