Zentis Osaka is the debut property of Palace Hotel Group's Zentis label, a brand with designs to raise the bar on select- service hospitality. Subtly edgy, wonderfully Japanese and naturally resplendent, the upscale lifestyle hotel pays homage to a city known for its industrious charm with its contemporary, industrial chic look and laid-back feel.
Sixteen stories tall, the contemporary build completed in mid- 2020 features interiors by internationally renowned UK design firm Tara Bernerd & Partners and a pedigree that stems from the award-winning Palace Hotel Tokyo – the independent, homegrown brand that has redefined luxury Japanese hospitality. The materials chosen – exposed bricks, timber beams, ceppo stone, blue limestone, and structural ironmongery – evoke the designer’s vision of industrial chic while an earthy color palette of taupes and ivory accentuated by pops of honey, ochre, sage and steel-blue, create warmth and approachability. Local design touches include shigaraki-yaki bedside tables crafted in the kilns of Shiga, a prefecture renowned for its pottery, shodo-inspired calligraphic wallpaper installations and contemporary works by a local artist. The 212-room property represents Osaka’s first addition to the hand-picked portfolio of Design Hotels, which includes 300+ independently owned and operated hotels.
