Amankora

Paro  •  Bhutan
Sited in the picturesque Paro Valley near Balakha Village, 20 minutes from Paro’s only international airport, Amankora Paro is a 24-suite pine forest retreat commanding dramatic views of the 17th century Drukyel Dzong and the snow-clad peak of Mount Jhomolhari at an elevation of 7,300 metres. Centred by a large flagstone courtyard, a lime-washed stone pavilion houses the living and dining room facilities, and library. Conceptualized as a ‘village’ and connected by flagstone pathways, the resort’s architecture draws inspiration from traditional Bhutanese building traditions. Suites are similar in design, featuring natural rammed-earth walls, gently sloping roofs and wood-paneled interiors with a king-size bed, a traditional bukhari wood-burning stove and a large terrazzo-clad bath.

COMO Uma Paro

Paro  •  Bhutan
Experience the best of Bhutan at COMO Uma Bhutan in Paro and Punakha Valleys. Both locations offer exclusive private villas with sweeping views of the surrounding forest and mountains. At Paro, you can explore nearby highlights, including Tiger's Nest monastery, while Punakha offers access to more remote areas of the Himalayas. And when it comes to luxury, both properties offer a wealth of options. Dine on fresh, organic cuisine, or relax body and spirit with a holistic, Asian-inspired treatment in the spa. There are one-on-one meetings with a Buddhist monk for truly enlightening experiences.

Six Senses Bhutan

Paro  •  Bhutan
Six Senses Bhutan will move you to pause and think. This colorful Himalayan Kingdom lives by its ethos of gross national happiness. Journey through the vertiginous scenery of the western and central valleys, and you can’t help but find meaningful and uplifting experiences at every turn. That’s why the guest suites are distributed between five intimate lodges. Each has a unique character and all embrace our Six Senses guiding principles, which include a Six Senses Spa and Wellness Center, mindful eating, sleep and self-discovery. Visit one, or any combination, and immerse yourself in Bhutan’s spirituality, heritage and hospitality.

For those who see health and happiness as a journey of discovery, not a destination, Six Senses Bhutan offers uplifting experiences at every turn. The circuit immerses guests into Bhutan’s spirituality, culture, and hospitality as they travel between five individual lodges. Experiences include a sunrise meditation in Thimpu, afternoon cocktails riverside in a rice field in Punakha, watching Tibetan black-necked cranes at Gangtey, indulging in hot-stone baths at Bumthang, and gathering to dine and celebrate life in the stone ruins of Paro. You’ll leave feeling enlightened and reconnected.
