Where Friday Night Becomes Every Day
No template. Just the Friday feeling, written your way
In 1984, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, the Studio 54 co-founders, opened Morgans Hotel on Madison Avenue and invented what the industry now calls the boutique hotel. Andrée Putman shaped the original interiors; Philippe Starck later authored the theatrical language of Royalton, Delano, Mondrian, Sanderson, and St Martins Lane, defining how a generation imagined the hotel as cultural stage. The brand stands on three ideas: Be Original, Friday Feeling Everyday, and A Stamp of Approval. No two properties look alike. Each is shaped by its city, its building, and its team rather than a corporate playbook, with social spaces written as the leading act.
