At the very tip of Palm Jumeirah's West Crescent, on a secluded peninsula with the Arabian Gulf on one side and the Dubai skyline on the other, One&Only The Palm is a low-rise beach resort built in the Andalusian manner. Moorish arches, fountains and gardens set the tone, with a central pool mirroring the courtyards around it. The rooms, among the largest in Dubai, are kept few in number, set across the three-storey Manor House and a handful of beachfront mansions, and dressed in neutral, earthen tones drawn from the surroundings. Sliding doors open onto marble bathrooms with freestanding tubs, rainfall showers and Ex Voto Paris Black Amber amenities. Every room and suite has a terrace or balcony, some with a private pool. In front lies a private white-sand beach running more than 450 metres, scattered with shaded loungers, and the deep-blue Grand Pool is lined with double daybeds. At the adults-only Safina beach club, you can sip a cocktail looking out over Dubai Marina.
Dining falls to Yannick Alléno, one of the world's most decorated chefs, across three restaurants. Zest, the main restaurant, wraps the pool and Moorish gardens in floor-to-ceiling glass, serving all-day cooking that blends Mediterranean and Italian influences. By the private marina, 101 Dining Lounge & Bar is an overwater space pairing Mediterranean seafood and refined tapas with the skyline at dusk, a resident DJ on most evenings. STAY by Yannick Alléno, holder of two Michelin stars, reads modern French fine dining beneath black crystal chandeliers through two set menus, Émotions and Expérience, and is known for its pastry library. Wellness comes by way of the One&Only Spa by Guerlain, with an adults-only pool, a hammam and eight treatment rooms; the signature The 8 massage works some eighty muscles across face and body.
